Spencer Clarke is searching for a Family Support worker on behalf of one of our clients. As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with families facing a range of difficulties such as poverty, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and poor school attendance. Your role will be to deliver practical, hands-on support and structured interventions that help families to thrive and children to stay safe and supported.

What you will do:

• Provide tailored, practical support to families in their homes and communities

• Build trusting and professional relationships with parents, carers, and young people
• Support families to develop life skills, improve wellbeing, and build resilience
• Collaborate with professionals to assess needs, set goals, and review progress
• Deliver parenting programmes and evidence-based interventions
• Advocate on behalf of families with other agencies and services
• Keep accurate records and contribute to the development of family plans
• Work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, to meet family needs

What we're looking for:

• A Level 3 qualification in a relevant children's services field
• Experience working with vulnerable children and families
• Strong knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and multi-agency working
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
• A flexible, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach
• Ability to travel independently across the County Durham area
