We are seeking an Equality Events and Learning Assistant for a Local Authority Client based in North London.
As an Equality Events and Learning Assistant you will work closely with the Equality Events and Learning Manager to support the delivery of the council’s annual calendar of equalities events. These events play a crucial role in engaging staff and residents to challenge inequality and make the borough fairer.
About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:
- Assist the Equality Events and Learning Manager in delivering an annual calendar of equalities events, engaging staff, and residents in our efforts to challenge inequality.
- Coordinate all aspects of event management, ensuring attention to detail and value for money at every stage.
- Support the development of event outlines by researching best practices and bringing creativity and ideas to the table.
- Manage the events budget and seek sponsorship and advertising income to cover event costs.
- Build positive relationships with partner organisations, internal teams, venues, speakers, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of events.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience in planning and delivering in-person and virtual events.
- Knowledge of best practices in digital events and virtual platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and meet objectives within timeframes and budget constraints.
What’s on offer
Salary: £20+ per hour
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
