£227 per day

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a hardworking and experienced EHC Plan writer to support our local authority client in East London with the rising demand for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The EHC plan writer will ensure that each EHCP is of the highest quality and reflects the needs and wants of the child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Essential Requirements:

  • Local Authority experience and a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Proven experience in writing high quality EHCPs.
  • Able to prioritise workload to ensure statutory timescales are met.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Write and amend EHCPs for children and young people with SEND, ensuring the plans accurately reflect any changes in their needs or circumstances.
  • Provide support to EHC Coordinators including attending multi-agency meetings where required.
  • Drive improvement of best practice and procedures for writing and coordinating EHC Plans.

Skills required:

  • Excellent written communication with the ability to produce clear, concise, and legally compliant EHC Plans.
  • Able to work effectively in collaboration with EHC Coordinators, education, health, and social care professionals to ensure plans reflect a multi-agency approach.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate complex information from a range of sources.
