On behalf of our South East Local Authority client, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced EHC Coordinator to effectively manage the Education, Health and Care (EHC) process for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25.
The EHC Coordinator will focus on the development of clear, person-centred EHCPs delivered within statutory timeframes and in collaboration with families, education settings and multi-agency professionals.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years experience working as an EHC Coordinator or similar within a Local Authority setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation, particularly the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Previous experience in carrying out 20 week assessment process and annual reviews.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Successfully manage a caseload of EHC needs assessments, plans, and annual reviews.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings with education, health, social care, and other professionals to coordinate support for children and young people.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to support quality decision-making.
Skills required:
- Ability to manage a complex caseload, track multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and sensitively whilst acting as the main point of contact for children and their families.
- Knowledge and experience of SEND tribunals, including compiling and preparing detailed case evidence packs.
