Salary: £45,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven School Business Manager to play a key role in the opening and ongoing success of a new specialist school. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the early stages, supporting with the planning, development, registration, and operational running of the provision.
The school will provide a nurturing, inclusive, and aspirational environment for children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a small student cohort, the focus is on creating a safe and enriching setting where every learner can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the School Business Manager will:
- Lead, manage, and develop all support services across the school
- Ensure the site is safe, efficient, and well-maintained within budget
- Take responsibility for financial management, including budgets and resources
- Develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans to support continuous improvement
- Support recruitment and development of support staff
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
This role requires a high level of autonomy, with accountability for decision-making and operational leadership.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A relevant management or professional qualification (e.g. finance or leadership) - desirable
- Strong knowledge of education regulations and inspection frameworks
- Understanding of safeguarding and legislative requirements
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
