Education Lawyer
Salary: £50-£55 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract Length: 6-12-month initial contract

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of education law matters with minimal supervision.
- Providing clear, consistent, and strategic legal advice to Officers, Members, and stakeholders.
- Advising on key areas including:
- Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- School admissions and exclusions
- Judicial review and tribunal proceedings (SEND Tribunal)
- Safeguarding and children's services interface
- Governance of maintained schools and academies
- Conducting advocacy before courts and tribunals where appropriate.
About You
- Be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX.
- Have experience in education law and/or local government law.
- Have strong advocacy, drafting, and advisory skills.
- Experience in SEND Tribunal work and judicial review (desirable).
