Children's Strategic Commissioner

My client in Berkshire is looking to appoint a talented Children’s Strategic Commissioner on a Contract basis.

The role will drive the development and delivery of high-quality strategic programmes on a wide range of subject areas on high-profile, cross-cutting pieces of work in support of the Children’s Service’s priorities

About the role:

Based in Berkshire (Hybrid – remote considered):

  • Lead, plan, develop and deliver an expert professional service, testing innovative ways of how we can approach some of the most pressing challenges facing the borough, including the approach to early help and intervention.
  • You will take accountability for the timely delivery of a suite of strategies, including.
    • A Local Early Help and Prevention Strategy
    • A local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service strategy
    • A local sufficiency statement and action plan
    • A local Looked After and Care Leavers Strategy
    • Maintain positive relationships with senior officers across children services, the strategic partners and elected Members.
    • Support the development of strategy and policy informed by research, data analysis and undertaking consultations

About you:

You will have the following skillsets or experiences:

  • Excellent understanding of the provider market for Children’s Services.
  • Extensive Local Authority / Public Sector experience.
  • Significant experience of strategy, service delivery & design and commissioning for Children’s Services.
  • Excellence in high quality planning, commissioning, and improvement processes to drive change, innovation and excellence in social care commissioning

What’s on offer:

  • Salary: £450-£550+ per day inside IR35

  • Contract type: Contract – 3-6 month minimum.
  • Hours: 09:00ach -17:00 Monday to Friday
