Building Maintenance Surveyor

Location: London
Rate: £29.53 per hour
Contract: 3 - months minimum

Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a public sector housing client to appoint a Building Maintenance Surveyor to help drive quality, compliance, and resident satisfaction across responsive repairs and related programmes.

You will complete post-inspections, oversee contractor delivery on site, and support high-quality outcomes across repairs, handovers, and specialist works, working closely with internal teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Post-inspection of responsive repairs to ensure works meet specification, H&S standards, and contract conditions
  • On-site supervision of contractors and consultants to drive quality and efficiency
  • Supporting defect-free new build handovers and high standards of completion
  • Oversight of quality and compliance for specialist installations
  • Stakeholder management with residents groups, members, and partners, maintaining strong customer satisfaction
  • Collaboration with Repairs and Investment teams to support procurement and programme delivery
  • Contributing to service performance, KPIs, and productivity metrics
  • Deputising for the Quality and Performance Manager where required

About you:

  • Strong background in housing repairs, maintenance surveying, inspections, or clerk of works style roles
  • Confident managing contractors and quality on site
  • Good working knowledge of H&S compliance and safe systems of work
  • Strong communication skills with residents and internal stakeholders
