Behaviour Support Assistant - SEND School
Blackpool & Surrounding Areas
Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm
£110 per day
We are currently recruiting for Behaviour Support Assistants to work within SEND schools across Blackpool and the surrounding areas.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, helping them to engage in education, manage behaviour positively, and develop confidence both socially and academically.
We are looking for resilient, caring, and adaptable individuals who have experience working with challenging behaviour or supporting vulnerable individuals.
Suitable backgrounds may include:

  • Residential support work
  • Personal experience with SEND
  • Police officers or ex-police personnel
  • Prison officers
  • School-based experience
  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Care/support work
  • Sports coaching
  • Any similar transferable experience


The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Encouraging engagement within the classroom
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social development


What we are looking for:

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patience, resilience, and empathy
  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • Experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
