Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Assistant Housing Officer to work with our public sector client in Cambridge!

Contract – 3 - 6 months initial contract with the view to being extended to an ongoing basis

Salary - £14.50 – 18.00 per hour – negotiable dependent on experience

About the role:

  • Efficiently coordinate the letting of void properties to meet annual performance targets. Liaise with contractors to ensure properties meet void specifications and assist new tenants with the tenancy sign-up process, including Housing Benefit applications.
  • Manage individual tenancies within a designated neighbourhood, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and corporate policies while providing effective housing management services.
  • Interview tenants to address complex housing management issues, collaborating with internal departments and external agencies such as Safer Communities, Police, and Social Services to develop effective solutions.
  • Process garage applications promptly and minimise void timescales through efficient letting.
 

About You:

  • Previous experience in housing, tenancy and estate management or related field.
  • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle complex situations sensitively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
