Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Birkenhead who are seeking an Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and thrive within a structured and nurturing environment.
The school are looking for someone who can provide consistency, reliability and patience, building positive relationships with pupils who benefit from familiar routines and trusted adults.
Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, support work, healthcare roles or specialist education, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key responsibilities.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD and other additional learning needs.
• Help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour and engage positively in lessons.
• Work alongside the class teacher to adapt activities and provide personalised support.
• Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.
• Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build consistent and trusting relationships that enable pupils to flourish.

Essential Experience:

Applicants should have experience supporting children or young people with:

• SEND or additional learning needs.
• Autism (ASC), ADHD or communication needs.
• Behavioural or emotional regulation needs.
• Physical or medical needs (desirable).
• Care, residential, youth work or similar support backgrounds.

Applications without relevant SEND or support experience may not be shortlisted.
