Senior EHC Coordinator
£380 per day
3 month initial contract
Hybrid working - 2 days per week on site - East London Local Authority
On behalf of our Local Authority client in East London, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Senior EHC Coordinator to lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Senior EHC Coordinator will represent the Local Authority at mediation meetings, working collaboratively with families, young people, and professionals to resolve disputes without the need for a formal Tribunal where possible.
Essential Requirements:
- Local Authority experience with a strong understanding of SEN legislation, particularly the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Experience in managing caseloads and co-ordinating multi-agency support.
- Proven experience in delivering training and providing guidance to staff within the SEND team and across partner agencies.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Quality assure EHC plans to ensure they are clear, outcome-focused, and legally compliant.
- Manage a complex caseload of EHC needs assessments, plans, and annual reviews.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings with education, health, social care, and other professionals to coordinate support for children and young people.
Skills required:
- Ability to prioritise effectively in order to manage and maintain Annual Review and Statutory Assessment records within statutory timelines.
- Strong report writing, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Experienced in facilitating discussions to resolve disputes effectively and collaboratively.
