SEND Tribunal Officer
£400 per day
3 month initial contract, likely to be extended

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an experienced SEND Tribunal Officer to represent our local authority client at SEND Tribunals and support the fair, timely resolution of disputes relating to educational provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
In this role, the SEND Tribunal Officer will work in partnership with parents, schools, and professionals to address concerns at an early stage, using clear communication and problem-solving to minimise the need for formal tribunal hearings.
Essential Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of tribunal procedures and SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice (2015).
- Previous experience representing local authorities at SEND Tribunals.
- Strong case management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet statutory deadlines.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Represent the Local Authority by preparing for and attending tribunal hearings.
- Promote early resolution by facilitating discussions between schools and families to resolve disputes without the need for a formal tribunal where possible.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date records of tribunal cases and their outcomes.
Skills required:
- Proven ability to mediate between families, schools, and professionals to resolve disputes constructively.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with parents and colleagues.
- Efficient and innovative ways of working with the ability to find solutions.
