Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Team Manager to lead, manage and support the SEND Team of a North West local authority in delivering high-quality services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The SEND Team Manager will be responsible for the effective management of duties relating to EHC needs assessments and plans, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales whilst aiming to achieve the most positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience as a SEND Team Manager within a Local Authority setting.
- Proven people management skills with the ability to successfully motivate and delegate.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Line manage a number of direct reports providing supervision, guidance, and performance management.
- Work with Senior SEND Case Officers to put in place clear systems for allocating cases, managing casework, and liaising with schools and other professionals.
- Ensure processes are in place to meet statutory requirements and respond to concerns or complaints efficiently.
Skills required:
- Ability to motivate staff, drive best practice, and manage performance effectively.
- Ability to work well both as part of a team and in a leadership position.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
