SEND Team Manager

£350 per day

3 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Team Manager to lead, manage and support the SEND Team of a North West local authority in delivering high-quality services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The SEND Team Manager will be responsible for supporting the team to ensure that statutory duties are met, policies are followed and high quality performance is delivered to achieve the most positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND within the local authority.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience of working within SEND, particularly in a Local Authority setting.
  • Proven experience of decision making within SEND statutory services, considering financial impacts and potential legal challenges.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Effectively lead the co-ordination and delivery of SEND processes for the local authority, maintaining legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance for team managers and case officers whilst managing and resolving case queries.
  • Prepare and chair the EOTAS forum, ensuring that a consistent approach to decision making is adhered to.

Skills required:

  • Ability to motivate staff, drive best practice, and manage performance effectively.
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team and in a leadership position.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
