We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Stretford. This is a full-time role supporting children with complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and additional communication needs.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide tailored support that enables students to access learning and develop essential life skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Assisting with communication, sensory activities, and learning interventions.
• Supporting students with mobility and physical needs where required.
• Delivering personal care, including toileting and hygiene support, in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development.
• Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEND, complex needs, or disabilities.
• Are comfortable providing personal care support.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
