Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Wythenshawe. This is a full-time role, starting as soon as possible, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.
The role will involve working closely with students who require additional support, including personal care, so candidates must be comfortable assisting with these duties in a respectful and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to implement individual support plans
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Use effective behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working with SEN pupils (essential)
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health & social care
