SEND Assessment & Review Coordinator

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a hardworking and committed SEND Assessment and Review Coordinator to manage and coordinate a caseload of assessments and reviews, ensuring all statutory deadlines and requirements are met.
Working as part of a Local Authority SEND team in the North East, the Assessment and Review Coordinator will lead on the preparation, drafting and issuing of outcome-focused EHC Plans that reflect the child or young person's needs and aspirations.
Essential Requirements:
- A good knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice (2015).
- Local Authority experience and a strong knowledge of the EHCP process.
- Able to prioritise workload to ensure statutory deadlines are met.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Review EHCPs to ensure they are clear and consistent and that they accurately reflect the child's current needs and provision.
- Liaise with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to gather information, facilitate meetings and follow up on any actions and requests.
- Manage and oversee annual reviews of EHC Plans, working with schools and families to ensure reviews are timely, person-centred, and outcome focused.
Skills required:
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with families, schools and professionals.
- Attention to detail for quality assuring EHC Plans and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to manage a busy caseload whilst meeting statutory deadlines.
