Hybrid working - East England Local Authority
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking several experienced Case Officers to join the SEND team of an East England Local Authority, with particular focus on amendments to annual reviews.
The SEND Case Officers will monitor the ongoing provision for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring the council meets its statutory duties and aims to achieve the most positive outcomes for young people with SEND.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience of working as a SEND Case Officer within a Local Authority Team.
- A strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and well-organised records.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Manage and oversee a caseload of EHCPs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Make amendments to Annual Reviews to ensure the EHCP remains accurate and tailored to the child/ young person's evolving needs.
- Act as the main point of contact for families, schools, and partner agencies.
Skills required:
- Strong problem-solving skills to make well-informed decisions based on evidence from assessments.
- Able to effectively prioritise own workload to ensure legal timelines are met.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals.
