Spencer Clarke Group are seeking several experienced SEND Case Officers to join the Annual Reviews team of a South London Local Authority.
The SEND Case Officers will act as the main point of contact for families during the EHC process and will monitor the ongoing provision for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure the Local Authority meets its statutory duties.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience of working as a SEND Case Officer within a Local Authority Team.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience of managing a varied caseload and responding promptly to urgent cases requiring immediate communication.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Lead and manage Annual Reviews for children and young people with SEND.
- Act as the named officer for a caseload of young people with SEND, overseeing and monitoring their placements to ensure timely intervention and communication.
- Co-ordinate and process funding uplift requests with schools and relevant stakeholders.
Skills required:
- Effective communication for liaising with schools regarding placement suitability and funding discussions.
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, priority-driven record keeping.
- Multi-agency collaboration skills, coordinating effectively with schools, social care, health services and other stakeholders to support children with SEND.
