SEND Case Officer - Phased Transfers

3 month initial contract, likely to be extended
Fully remote working (equipment must be collected on day 1)
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to successfully manage and coordinate the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes for children and young people aged 0-25 years, with a particular focus on phased transfers.
Working within the SEND team for a London local authority, the SEND Case Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory SEND regulations whilst delivering high-quality outcomes for children and young people with SEND and their families.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience of working within SEND for a local authority.
- Secure knowledge of SEND regulations in particular the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
- Experience of managing phased transfers or transition planning for children and young people with SEND.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensure all statutory deadlines are met for assessments, annual reviews, and phased transfer processes.
- Monitor the quality of EHC Plans, ensuring that they are clear, outcome-focused, and updated appropriately to reflect each transition phase.
- Liaise with educational settings to secure suitable provision and placements in line with each child or young persons identified needs.
Skills required:
- Effective time management and ability to work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across agencies.
- Able to effectively identify and assess the needs of children or young people through relevant assessments.
