£280 - £300 per day

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to meet the continuing needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Working as part of a London local authority team, the SEND Case Officer will oversee the appropriate placement and ongoing provision of support for children and young people with SEND within the borough.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience of SEN Casework and EHCP writing for a Local Authority.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation including the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Extensive experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Review and manage allocated caseloads, ensuring EHCPs are kept up to date, statutory reviews are completed within required timescales, and provision remains appropriate to the needs of each child or young person.
  • Production of high-quality and person-centred Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Co-ordination of EHCP assessments and annual reviews, ensuring compliance with legal timeframes.

Skills required:

  • Proven ability to prepare high-quality EHCP documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Able to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with parents, schools and professionals.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and complex caseload.
