£300 - £320 per day

Remote working - Midlands Local Authority

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of SEND Case Officers to contribute to meeting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within a Midlands Local Authority.

The SEND Case Officers will ensure that Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments, plans and reviews are completed within statutory timescales and are high quality and outcomes focused.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience of SEN Casework for a Local Authority.
• Solid understanding of SEND legislation including the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
• Strong knowledge of Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes and statutory requirements.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, liaising with families and education providers to secure appropriate support and provision.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and panels, representing the Local Authority where required.
• Coordinate and monitor the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process, ensuring timely requests, evidence gathering and strong decision-making.

Skills required:

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a large and varied caseload.
• Able to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with parents, schools and professionals.
• Strong attention to detail required for drafting and quality assuring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
