Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of experienced SEND Assessment Officers to join the SEND and Inclusion Service of a South East Local Authority. The SEND Assessment Officers will coordinate and manage the Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing EHCPs for a Local Authority.
  • Proven experience of working within both pre and post 14 teams.
  • Secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015, SEND Regulations 2014 and The Children and Families Act 2014.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Take responsibility for the end-to-end management of EHCP updates, reviews, and changes, maintaining compliance with statutory timeframes.
  • Provide families with guidance and support as their main point of contact, ensuring the process remains open and fair throughout.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, monitor progress and support service development by highlighting areas of improvement.

Skills required:

  • Able to build and maintain meaningful relationships with education settings and young people and their families.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
