SEMH Teacher - Specialist Provisions- East Lancashire

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm | Term Time Only
We are currently recruiting for passionate and experienced SEMH Teachers to work within specialist provisions across East Lancashire from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with students with a range of additional needs within specialist educational settings, supporting them both academically and personally to achieve their full potential.

Role Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Teaching and supporting students with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and SEMH needs.
  • Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Implementing EHCP targets and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning requirements.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students with emotional regulation where required.
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records in line with school policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching and supporting students with SEND within both specialist provisions and mainstream schools.
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to pay for and apply for one.
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills.
  • A flexible, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
