SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools (East Lancashire)

Location: East and surrounding areas
Role Type: Temporary / Long-term opportunities available

Spencer Clarke Group is working closely with a number of mainstream secondary schools across the East Lancs area who are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs, particularly ASC and ADHD.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are experienced in SEN support and are looking for flexible or long-term roles within supportive school environments.

The Role:

  • Providing in-class and small-group support to pupils with SEN

  • Supporting students with ASC and ADHD to access the curriculum

  • Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management and differentiation

  • Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

  • Working collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly ASC and/or ADHD

  • Experience within a secondary school setting is desirable

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, SEN qualifications) are preferred but not essential

  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
