SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer
£380 per day
3 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer to support our local authority client in the East of England with the early resolution of disputes relating to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer will be required to represent the local authority during mediations and tribunals, ensuring that they fulfil all statutory requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation including the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience in representing local authorities at SEND Tribunals.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working within Local Authority SEND.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Manage and oversee appeals to First-tier tribunal ensuring timely responses within legal deadlines.
- Facilitate mediations to resolve disputes about provision without the need for a formal hearing where possible.
- Represent the Local Authority by preparing for and attending formal mediations and actioning any follow up activity.
Skills required:
- Proven negotiation and mediation skills.
- Ability to manage and maintain up to date and accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle sensitive conversations with parents, carers, schools, and professionals.
