Principal Finance Manager

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Principal Finance Managerto work with our local authority client in Manchester!      

Contract – 3 – 6 months initial contract with the view to being extended to an ongoing basis

Salary - £200.00+ per day – negotiable dependent on experience

About the role:

• The role holder will provide an appropriate, accurate and effective financial management service ensuring financial probity and timely interpretation and implementation of legislative and accounting changes.
  • To support the Group Finance Lead in the effective and efficient preparation of the medium term revenue and capital budgets in accordance with the statutory timetable and in line with corporate priorities.
  • To support the production of the annual statement of accounts including ensuring that all accounts are closed and statements produced in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with statutory requirements and the corporate timetable.
  • Assist with the consolidation of MCC and group published accounts 2023/24, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, CIPFA Code of Practice and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Assist with the finalisation of 2022/23 year end audit processes, supporting external auditors to plan and deliver the audit

About You:

• Must be a qualified CCAB accountant.

• Detailed knowledge of financial analysis and modelling including preparation and reviewing of business plans.
• Ability to present high quality financial information to senior management,
• A methodical and organized approach to consolidating a complex set of accounts and managing a significant volume of audit queries
