PFA SEND Case Officer

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) SEND Officer to manage a caseload of young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring that provision meets their identified needs and statutory requirements.
Working for our local authority client in South East England, the SEND Case Officer will coordinate Education Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, leading to the creation of high quality and person centred EHCPs.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years recent experience working as a SEND Officer within a Local Authority setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the Children and Families Act (2014).
- Strong understanding and proven experience of the Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) framework.
- Must be able to travel to Local Authority in the South East to collect equipment on the first day.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Draft, amend and maintain EHCPs to reflect current needs, provision, and outcomes.
- Co-ordinate annual reviews and phased transfers, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
- Support the transition of young people with SEND into adulthood, ensuring a seamless process and the appropriate provision is in place.
Skills required:
- Able to successfully manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks and meet statutory deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with partners across education, health, social care and employment services.
- Strong decision making surrounding the support, provision and placement of young people with SEND.
