Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care
Location: Hybrid / Maidenhead
Pay: £38 per hour (umbrella rate)
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 3 months initially (potential for extension)
Our Local Authority Client are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for their Adult Social Care Service in Windsor and Maidenhead.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver a professional Occupational Therapy / Reablement Service, managing a high proportion of complex, contentious, and high-risk cases.
- Conduct and contribute to high-quality assessments including manual handling risk assessments, postural and seating assessments, functional and environmental assessments, safeguarding inquiries, and planning for major/minor adaptations.
- Provide and prescribe equipment and adaptations to maximise independence and optimise quality of life for individuals and their carers.
- Set and monitor SMART goals to promote independence, prevent avoidable hospital admissions, and support timely hospital discharges through integrated working with health and social care colleagues.
- Deliver community-based interventions to facilitate transitions from formal care settings back to the home environment.
Requirements:
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working with with vulnerable adults in any combination of adult social care, community settings, hospitals, or residential care environments.
- An understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act.
