Occupational Therapist

Locations: Hybrid Working - office based 2 days a week in Hackney

Pay: £36 per hour (umbrella rate)

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: 3 months initially (potential for extension)

Our Local Authority client are recruiting a locum Occupational Therapist for their Hospital Team in Hackney.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy interventions that promote independence in daily living activities and empower residents through co-production, giving them choice and control.
• Work as part of the Integrated Discharge Service to assess Hackney residents in hospitals across London and beyond, identifying safe and appropriate discharge destinations and support plans.
• Undertake community-based reviews in partnership with residents, families, carers, and other professionals to reassess long-term needs and address emerging concerns.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary hospital teams, participating in ward-based meetings to support timely and safe discharges.

Requirements:

• A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience working with adults in a healthcare setting, ideally within a hospital or social care environment.
• Ability to complete a Care Act Review.
