Housing Litigation Solicitor

Contract: 3-6 months - likely to be extended
Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

A London Borough Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Housing Litigation Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing local authority, supporting vital housing litigation and advisory work that directly impacts our residents and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take over and manage a live caseload of 50+ complex housing litigation matters Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal clients.
- Represent the council in court proceedings and liaise with counsel where necessary.
- Draft legal documents and correspondence.
- Respond to new instructions efficiently and support the wider team during high-demand periods.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (ICLEX or Law Society membership essential).
- Strong experience in housing law, particularly possession and ASB litigation.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
- Excellent communication, drafting, and advocacy skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to legal problem-solving.
