Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Advice & Preventions Officer for a Local Authority Client in Folkestone.
In this role you will provide proactive housing advice and casework to prevent homelessness and support people to secure and sustain suitable accommodation.
Duties:
- Provide housing advice and assess homelessness applications to prevent and reduce homelessness
- Work with clients to create personalised housing plans and negotiate housing solutions
- Liaise with landlords, agencies, and support services to secure and sustain accommodation
- Manage a caseload, keep accurate records, and ensure statutory duties and targets are met
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working in housing, homelessness prevention, or a related support service
- Experience assessing housing need and applying relevant housing legislation
- Experience working with vulnerable clients in high-pressure or complex situations
- Experience managing a caseload and maintaining accurate case records and systems
What's on offer:
Salary: £18+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: 1 X Full Time position (37 hours) 1 X Part Time position (21 hours)
