Flood & Coastal Principal Project Manager
Location: South West England
Rate: TBC
Contract: 6 Months
Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an experienced Principal Project Manager to support a Flood and Coastal capital projects team entering an increased peak of works activity across 2027-28.
You will join a well-established capital team delivering complex programmes including contract specialists, accredited NEC Project Managers and Supervisors, and technical engineers. Hybrid working is supported, though attendance at civic or site offices two days per week is requested.
Responsibilities include
- Leading delivery of flood and coastal capital schemes from initiation through to completion
- Managing programmes to time, budget, quality, and risk standards (PRINCE2/APM aligned)
- Contract management and supplier performance, with a focus on NEC4 ECC and PSC environments
- Coordinating stakeholders across multiple regions and services
- Supporting governance, reporting, and project controls across key milestones
- Occasional weekend and tidal working where project constraints require it
About you
- Strong senior project management background on complex civil engineering / infrastructure programmes
- PRINCE2 and/or APM qualification
- Solid understanding of NEC contracts, ideally NEC4 ECC and PSC
- Local authority experience preferred
- Full driving licence
- Comfortable with hybrid working and site attendance expectations
