Fire Risk Officer
Location: Various locations in the South / South West
Salary: £44k salary plus benefits
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Hybrid
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a large housing provider to appoint a Fire Risk Officer to support fire safety compliance across a varied residential portfolio including buildings with common parts, schemes and HMOs.
This is a hands-on role focused on delivering and assuring fire risk assessments, maintaining robust records, and driving actions through to completion in line with legal requirements and internal priority timescales.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertake fire risk assessments on relevant buildings producing clear, compliant reports
- Complete regular inspections across dwellings and buildings with common areas
- Audit and review third-party fire risk assessments completed by contractors
- Maintain an auditable database of fire risk assessments and ensure information is accessible to relevant stakeholders
- Support creation of fire specifications for works, working closely with internal teams
- Liaise with fire authorities, contractors, consultants, local authorities and other partners
- Issue programmes of fire safety works to delivery teams and monitor progress against agreed timescales and budgets
- Support incident learning and contribute to reporting, statistics and internal panels/groups
- Contribute to fire safety training, toolbox talks, and guidance across the organisation
About you:
- Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment qualification to minimum Level 3 (IFE/IFSM or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years delivering fire risk inspections and producing reports
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and standards
- Experience in housing, residential blocks, schemes or HMOs is highly beneficial
- Confident communicator, able to influence across operational teams and stakeholders
- Full driving licence (ability to travel across sites)
