Finance Business Partner - Interim
Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in the North West to appoint an Interim Finance Business Partner to provide professional financial support, advice and management information across the Council.
This is a short-term interim assignment focused on supporting effective budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting and business partnering across council services.

Rate: £51.68 per hour Umbrella / £39.97 per hour PAYE
Contract length: 12 weeks initially
Hours: 36 hours per week
Location: North West

The Role
The successful candidates will support the delivery of a proactive, customer-focused finance business partnering service, providing reliable and timely financial advice to service managers and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
· Providing financial advice and support to service managers and budget holders.
· Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning activity.
· Producing clear, accurate and timely management information.
· Interpreting financial data and identifying areas for improvement.
· Supporting the integrity and accuracy of financial information held within finance systems.
· Assisting with claims, returns and reporting requirements where required.
About You
You will ideally have:
· Strong local authority / public sector finance experience.
· Experience supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and management reporting.
· Ability to work confidently with service managers, budget holders and senior stakeholders.
· Good understanding of financial systems, data integrity and reporting processes.
· A formal accountancy qualification or equivalent experience gained within a finance setting.
· Experience supporting transformation, commercial activity or income generation would be beneficial.
