Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a secondary school in Southport to recruit an English Teacher for an immediate start. This is a full-time position continuing until the end of the academic year, paid to scale in line with your experience.

The school is seeking a committed English specialist to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong progress and outcomes

  • Assess, monitor and track student performance effectively

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A clear understanding of the GCSE English Language and Literature curriculum

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
