On behalf of a London Local Authority, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced EHCP Coordinator to manage the statutory process for Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs assessments for children and young people with SEND.
The EHCP Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring appropriate placements for a caseload of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years Local Authority experience within a SEND team.
- Proven experience in managing a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
- A strong understanding of SEN legislation including the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, ensuring placements and provision are appropriate and effective.
- Ensure Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are legally compliant, outcome-focused, and reflect the individual needs and aspirations of the child or young person.
- Facilitate annual review and other multi-agency meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
Skills required:
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills to manage competing priorities and meet statutory deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with families, education settings and partner agencies.
