SEND EHC Plan Writer / Assessment Officer

£270 per day

6 month initial contract

Fully remote working

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of hardworking and experienced EHC Plan writers to support our local authority client in the South East of England. The SEND plan writers will work collaboratively with case officers, families and educational settings to produce clear and person-centred Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs) that reflect the needs and wants of the child or young person with SEND.

Essential Requirements:

• Significant experience of working within a local authority SEND team.
• Excellent writing skills with previous experience of producing high quality EHCPs.
• Strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Prepare, write and maintain high-quality EHC Plans that accurately reflect the needs and aspirations of children and young people with SEND.
• Ensure all plans are completed within statutory timeframes and meet legislative requirements.
• Work as part of a wider team of plan writers and assessment case officers to clear the backlog of needs assessments efficiently and effectively.

Skills required:

• Ability to review and interpret professional reports from education, health and social care to produce well-evidenced plans.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring plans are accurate, clear, and legally compliant.
• Able to manage a high workload, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet statutory deadlines.
