EHC Coordinator
£275 per day
5 month contract
North East London Local Authority - 2-3 days per week on site
On behalf of a North East London Local Authority, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of experienced EHC Coordinators to manage the statutory process for Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs assessments for children and young people with SEND.
The EHC Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring secure and appropriate placements for a caseload of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years Local Authority experience with a strong understanding of SEN legislation including the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience in managing a caseload of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- A continued commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, ensuring placements and provision are appropriate, effective and regularly reviewed.
- Ensure Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are legally compliant, outcome-focused, and reflect the individual needs and aspirations of the child or young person.
- Prepare clear written communication and present cases verbally at the EHC Panel and other multi-agency panels as required.
Skills required:
- Ability to prioritise and manage a busy caseload while meeting statutory deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with families, education settings and external agencies.
