EHC Coordinator - Post 14

£31,280 per annum

Hybrid working - 2-3 days per week on site

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a hardworking and experienced EHC Coordinator to manage and coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and plans for young people aged 14-25, ensuring statutory compliance and positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Working as part of a Local Authority SEND team in the South East of England, the EHC Coordinator will lead on the preparation, drafting and issuing of person-centred EHC Plans that reflect the young person's needs and aspirations.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years Local Authority experience.
  • A strong knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice (2015).
  • Proven experience of post-14 SEND Casework with a strong knowledge of the Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) framework.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Manage a caseload of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for young people aged 14-25, ensuring they are clear, consistent and accurately reflect their current needs and provision.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the complete process for maintaining, reviewing and amending EHCPs, ensuring statutory timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to gather information, facilitate meetings and follow up on any actions and requests.
  • Attend annual reviews for complex and phase transfers as required. 

Skills required:

  • Able to work collaboratively with families, schools, health and social care professionals.
  • Strong organisation skills in order to manage a complex caseload whilst meeting statutory deadlines.
  • Able to maintain accurate records and track progress to contribute to service development.
