EHC Coordinator

£250 - £270 per day

3 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Education Health and Care (EHC) Coordinator to effectively manage casework for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on behalf of our local authority client in the South West of England.

The EHC Coordinator will work in collaboration with the rest of the SEND service and education settings to monitor the ongoing provision and ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working within a Local Authority SEND Team.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience in case management with the ability to manage a caseload effectively while keeping accurate and up-to-date records.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Act as the named officer for a caseload of young people with SEND in the local authority, ensuring that the provision outlined in the EHCP is being delivered effectively and within the statutory timeframe.
  • Coordinate, chair and attend meetings with parents, educational institutions, and multi-agency professionals to discuss and resolve issues concerning the support and provision for young people with SEND.
  • Represent Children's Services in the statutory annual review process for children and young people with EHC Plans, including those educated otherwise than at school and those in Year 9 and above.

Skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with multiple professions and agencies to deliver high-quality services, adhere to deadlines, and manage resources efficiently.
  • Strong sense of advocacy to represent and support the voice of the child or young person and their family.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build trust and maintain positive relationships with families and professionals
