Interim Disrepair Supervisor
Location: South West England
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Pay: £350 per day
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority client in the South West to appoint an experienced Interim Disrepair Supervisor to join their Housing and Landlord Services directorate. This is a vital role focused on the effective supervision of a team of Response Services Surveyors, overseeing responsive repair services to the council's housing stock and land assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate a team of Response Services Surveyors delivering pre- and post-repair inspections.
- Act as technical lead and expert witness for disrepair claims, complex complaints, PAD applications, and FOIs.
- Monitor the quality and progress of repairs carried out by internal trade teams and external contractors.
- Provide oversight of end-to-end repair cases, ensuring high-quality customer communication and resolution.
- Support expenditure and budget reporting in collaboration with the Responsive Repairs Manager.
- Supervise staffing resources and manage performance, development, and support within the team.
Requirements
- Strong supervisory or managerial experience in a housing repairs environment.
- In-depth understanding of housing disrepair claims and related legal processes.
- Experience preparing reports and acting as an expert witness is desirable.
- Knowledge of current repairs policy, housing legislation, and best practice.
- Background in local authority or social housing property services.
- Experience responding to Ombudsman or litigation cases relating to housing disrepair. (Desirable)
