Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in Preston. The successful candidate will work closely with one child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis, providing essential support and guidance to facilitate their learning and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a single SEN child on a one-to-one basis, supporting their learning and development in accordance with their Individual Education Plan.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of the child, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create and implement engaging learning activities that promote the child's progress and well-being.
  • Provide regular feedback to the SENCO and other relevant stakeholders on the child's progress, highlighting areas of strength and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of the child's behaviour, progress, and any interventions implemented, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity at all times.

Requirements:

  • A qualification related to working with children in schools is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviour, is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Confidence in implementing behaviour management techniques and strategies, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • Patience, resilience, and empathy when working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and equality, ensuring all children have access to the support they need to thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
