We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work across both SEN and mainstream schools in Darwen. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and young people by providing behaviour and emotional support in a classroom setting.
The Role
- Location: Darwen
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- School Settings: SEN and Mainstream
- Start Date: Immediate and upcoming opportunities available
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in learning.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
We're Looking For

- Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs or challenging behaviour.
- Are calm, patient, and resilient under pressure.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Are passionate about making a real difference in education.
Experience in education, youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, or support work is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and the right attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
