Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an Accommodation Needs Assessment Officer for a Local Authority Client in Ilford.
In this role you will assess complex housing needs, make legally informed accommodation decisions, and work with partners to prevent and relieve homelessness for vulnerable households.
Duties:
- Assess accommodation needs for households in temporary accommodation under homelessness legislation
- Make decisions on suitability of offers and discharge of homelessness duties
- Develop and review Personalised Housing Plans to prevent or relieve homelessness
- Work with internal and external partners to support complex vulnerable households and reduce homelessness
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working in housing advice, homelessness prevention, or a similar frontline service
- Experience applying housing legislation such as the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Experience working with vulnerable clients and complex casework involving multiple agencies
- Experience making evidence-based decisions and managing a high-volume caseload under pressure
What's on offer:
Salary: £22ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
