Meet the Team - Jamie Heath

1-2 minutes

We recently caught up with Managing Consultant, Jamie Heath, to find out what advice he'd give his younger self and how his career path has led him to Spencer Clarke Group!

How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?

I have worked at Spencer Clarke Group since May 2022 and so far I have really enjoyed being part of the team!

What markets do you specialise in?

I specialise in education, specifically working with schools who support children with special educational needs. I have worked in this sector since 2013 and I find it really rewarding!

What do you love most about what you do?

I love the feeling I get when I have found someone their dream job in a school setting. Knowing I have helped them find their next steps into education is a great feeling!

I also love the client facing aspect of the job and being able to help schools with their staffing needs. I have worked with a number of wonderful people over the years and I look forward to continuing to build successful relationships.

What motivates you at work?

I am motivated by success and seeing goals being achieved. I look forward to seeing my team grow and helping as many people as possible secure their dream role as this is also a big motivator for me.

How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?

Working at Spencer Clarke Group is nothing like any other place I have ever worked at -  in a good way! There is a real mix between working hard and having fun which makes coming to work a dream.

Everyone here is on the same wavelength which means the office environment has a real family feel to it.

Everyone is always keen to help and support other members of the team and we always enjoy a beer on a Friday after work!

Tell us about your career path so far.

I used to work in accountancy but I felt as though there wasn’t enough of a social aspect to the job which is something I really craved.

This led me to applying for a job in recruitment in 2013 and I haven’t looked back since!

In 2014, I accepted a role in education recruitment and I immediately felt at home in this sector.

Before joining Spencer Clarke Group, I managed a team specialising in SEND at a different recruitment agency.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I think my colleagues would describe me as outgoing, sociable and always willing to help other people!

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

When I’m not in the office, you would probably find me on a city break, Poland is a particular favourite place of mine.

When I’m not exploring new cities you’ll find me in a restaurant or a pub with an ice-cold beer in my hand!

Tell us something we’d never guess about you!

I am a bit of a history geek and I really enjoy visiting museums and watching documentaries.

What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?

I am looking forward to building a successful team here at Spencer Clarke Group who will provide excellent staff to SEND, primary and secondary schools across Lancashire and the UK!

10 Quick Fire Questions!

What’s your favourite film?

Easy choice, it’s Law Abiding Citizen, however I have recently seen the new Top Gun and it was incredible! That’s also now up there in my top 3 favourite films.

Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

I went to Kenya on safari, which was amazing! I saw the big five and I got to bring in the new year in such a beautiful place.

What advice would you give to your young self?

I would tell myself to bet on Blackburn winning the Premier League in 1994/1995!

Have you ever met anyone famous?

I met Peter Andre in a restaurant at the top of a ski mountain, he introduced me to his family and he was really friendly.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

I would take the US Office box set, a laptop to watch it on and a Domino's pizza!

Do you have any pets?

I don't at the moment.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Yes, but I’d like to keep them hidden.

What’s the best gig you’ve been to?

Gerry Cinnamon by a mile, if you haven’t heard his music, you have to give it a listen! I also went to the One Love concert in Manchester which was brilliant.

Meerkat. They’re awesome!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Garlic bread covered in baked beans, it sounds weird but it’s so good!
