School Youth Worker

Location: Blackburn, East Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £107 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Term Time Only

We are currently seeking a dedicated and approachable School Youth Worker to work within a school setting in the Blackburn area. This role focuses on supporting primary and secondary aged students, helping them to develop confidence, manage behaviour and engage positively with education.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group pastoral support to students

  • Supporting young people with emotional, behavioural and social needs

  • Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships

  • Supporting engagement in lessons and during unstructured times

  • Working closely with teaching staff, SEN and pastoral teams

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (youth work, education, care or support roles desirable)

  • Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk young people is beneficial

  • Ability to travel within Blackburn and East Lancashire

  • Minimum of 24 months employment history, with no significant gaps

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child Workforce), or willingness to apply and pay for one

  • Patient, resilient and committed to supporting positive outcomes for young people
