We're looking for a dedicated and empathetic School-Based Youth Worker to join a supportive school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and help them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
About the Role
As a School-Based Youth Worker, you'll work closely with pupils who have SEN needs. You'll provide targeted interventions, mentoring, and emotional support to help them engage positively in school life and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to support emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Help manage challenging behaviour and promote positive attitudes toward learning.
Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
Help implement and monitor individual support plans.
About You
Experience working with young people in an education, youth work, or community setting.
A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire young people.
