Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - PRU (Primary & Secondary)
Location: Rochdale

Contract Type: Full Time, Term Time Only

We are recruiting a resilient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist PRU provision in Rochdale supporting both primary and secondary pupils.

The school supports students who are unable to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, trauma, ADHD, ASD and attachment difficulties. The focus is on structure, consistency and positive behaviour support to help pupils re-engage with learning.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management

  • Implementing behaviour support strategies

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans

  • Promoting positive routines and engagement

  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in a PRU, alternative provision or SEMH setting

OR transferable experience from:

  • Youth work

  • Residential care

  • Support work

  • Behaviour mentoring

  • Mental health support roles

The ideal candidate will be calm, patient, confident managing challenging behaviour and committed to safeguarding.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Up-to-date CV with full employment history and no unexplained gaps
